Artisan
Our aim is to work at the grass root level with the artisans who live in rural India for their empowerment. 90% of our artisans are women and we believe that more demand for our products gives them more work – this directly improves their quality of living.
We do not believe making conventional fashion fads which last for short periods. Indeed, our products are designed to last and be appreciated for years.
Every piece of embroidery we create is environment-friendly and intended to add value to the social and economic welfare of our RURAL ARTISANS for generations to come. As an indigenous fashion brand, we solely follow organic, ethical, and eco-friendly processes to encourage product-level initiatives, manufacturing schedules, and FAIR TRADE minus waste. We aspire to become a SUSTAINABLE FASHION choice for today’s conscious world of Kantha consumers and connoisseurs. Kantha by Farah Khan products are designed and woven in ways that value SLOW FASHION and advocate the revival of decades’ old heritage craft solely MADE IN INDIA.
Most of our products are made by women artisans who have learnt this art passed down to them over several generations and their family members or friends sitting together to embroider the products. Because of this, you can also feel and experience the “Warmth” of the rich traditions, art and culture of the land and its artisans. Our fascination for best quality of fabrics and embroidery has manifested itself into a way of life. The products are special not only for the artisans who make them but also for those who are proud owners of these fabulous works of art.
